There is no difference between a chiropodist and a podiatrist. Podiatrist is the accepted term internationally and is being used more and more in the UK instead of chiropodist. Only practitioners registered with the Health Professions Council are allowed to refer to themselves as podiatrists or chiropodists.
Chiropody is often used to describe the treatment of skin and nail conditions, whereas podiatry relates more to the mechanics of the foot/lower limb and covers the treatment of foot pain and injuries, and the production of orthotics: customised in-shoe supports used to relieve a number of different conditions.
Our podiatrists are fully-qualified state registered podiatrists, registered with the Health Professions Council and Members of the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists.
It’s fairly painless but we do need to register you when you arrive – if you can arrive a few minutes early for your first appointment we can get it out of the way before your session begins.
If you would like us to invoice your private medical insurer directly for your podiatry please bring your details with you. At your first visit you will be provided with a copy of our terms and conditions.
