Those classed under the DVLA Group 2, which includes taxi and HGV drivers, are required to undergo a medical before starting work and then every five years after the age of 40 to screen for certain conditions such as epilepsy, insulin-treated diabetes, serious heart problems, substance abuse or poor eyesight. Annual assessments are required after age 65. The Health & Safety Executive also recommends assessment after an absence of more than a month - or less if it is likely that the illness has affected the driver's fitness to operate workplace transport.
We have extensive experience working with transport companies and individuals to provide driver medicals quickly and conveniently. Our experienced healthcare professionals carry out the assessments in line with DVLA and HSE requirements and provide the relevant reports.
